The College owns several well-equipped
Science Laboratories in accordance with the requirements
of the syllabi that are prescribed by each of the two
boards of education. There are a couple of Computer Laboratories
out of which one is meant exclusively for the Primary
Section while the other is for the Junior and Senior Schools.
Multi-media and Internet facilities are also available.
The Computer Laboratories are, indeed, the busiest nooks
of the College where children spend some of their most
fruitful hours. It is really a wonderful experience to
see the fusion of creativity and technology, as students
sit and give vent to their latent creative impulses on
various operating systems using all the latest software.

| The many offices of the College are carefully
networked and all information is accessible to the Director
at any time. Data preserved for more than a century is
slowly and systematically being transferred on to the
office machines. All records, academic or otherwise, are
available. Rare manuscripts, historical documents and
pictures are preserved in the office archives. The Director
monitors the activities of the various offices from his
office and keeps an eye on the academic performance of
every child on an examination to examination basis. |

There is no need for the parents to worry
about the safety and security of their children. The campus
is entirely safe and secure. Special officers on patrol
duty ensure that no unauthorised person is found roaming
around on the campus at any time. State of the art gadgets
are employed to ascertain that nobody enters the campus
with concealed firearms or things that can cause any kind
of harm to the children.
Although the College takes every precaution to prevent
severe injuries, and provides immediate first aid in case
they do, if a child does sustain fatal injuries in strenuous
activities like Horse Riding and swimming, it is understood
that the College will not take any responsibility for
the damages. Children, who participate in these activities,
do so out of their own free will and at their own risk.
Children will themselves be responsible for their injuries.
Parents are requested to exhort their children not to
participate in such events if they are scared of the consequences,
and leave standing instructions in writing with the House
Masters to that effect.
|
| In no case will
the College be responsible for injuries sustained during
sports and games and casualties resulting therefrom. |

The College Library is housed in an H-shaped
building behind the Flag Park. It has a spacious Reading
Room, another room of medium size, and a third for the
Librarian. Students can choose from the latest books,
periodicals and journals that help them to build a career
for themselves. The collection covers a wide range of
interest and caters to the needs of the staff as well
as the students. Books help the children to broaden their
intellectual horizons, escape from the dull grey sameness
of their lives and expand their reservoir of information.
The Library provides seven Newspapers and a number of
magazines.
Silence is observed in and around the Library. The provision
of cataloguing and classification of books under the Dewey
Decimal Classification System helps in smart and comfortable
reading.
There is a separate Reference Section, replete with Dictionaries,
Encyclopaedia and Year Books. Text books are provided
to the staff.
The Colvin Chronicle
is issued twice every year in November and March respectively,
at the end of the Term.
Apart from chronicling the important events on the Calendar,
it contains creative articles written in English and Hindi
by the student-journalists of the College under the guidance
of the Editorial Board.
Copies of the Magazine are sent to the parents, old boys,
and members of the Managing Committee.

| The Central Bank of India has an extension
counter on the campus. The College Office does not deal
in cash, except while providing the College Prospectus
and the Waiting List Registration Form. |

|
|
| |
| The Tuck Shop caters to the requirements
of the staff and students alike. Not only does it provide
the prescribed text books and stationery but also meets
the needs of the Boarders by keeping a regular stock of
electrical goods, items of general merchandise and hosiery
at approved rates. |

| A number of clubs exist in the college.
Students are encouraged to join clubs of their interest
and participate in the activities that are organized from
time to time. Regular meetings are held under the supervision
of like-minded teachers who also act as sponsors. The
various Clubs can be asked to participate in programmes
of their interest during one or many of the functions
that are held in the College from time to time. |
